Shriners Children's Boston Hosting Systemwide Research Conference

Shriners Children’s Boston is hosting a systemwide research conference, highlighting innovations in burn care as well as in cleft lip and cleft palate treatment. Clinicians and researchers from across the Shriners Children’s healthcare system will gather in April to exchange ideas and learn more about the groundbreaking research being done in these two important fields.

The conference begins at 8 a.m. EST on Friday, April 25, 2025 and concludes at 12 p.m. EST on Saturday, April 26, 2025. All sessions will take place in the lobby and auditorium at Shriners Children’s Boston, except for Friday’s dinner, location TBD.

Registration is open from 12 p.m.-5 p.m. EST on Thursday, April 24, 2025, in the Shriners Children’s Boston lobby.

Attendees may also register from 7 a.m.-8 a.m. EST on Friday, April 25, 2025.

Abstract Submissions

The deadline to submit abstracts is January 8, 2025 at 12 p.m. We welcome all submissions related to the following topics of interest:

  • Burn Care
  • Cleft Lip and Palate
  • Wound Healing
  • Translational Research

We encourage authors to focus on their long-term objectives, specific aims of their project and the benefit to Shriners Children’s.

When submitting abstracts, presenters may indicate their preferred mode of presentation, either oral or poster. Abstracts will be selected by a panel of experts based strictly on the scientific merits of the abstract. Abstracts not selected for oral presentations will automatically be considered for poster presentation.

Authors will receive notification of abstract acceptance/rejection via email by January 24, 2025. Presenting authors must register for the conference by April 1, 2025.

Submission Guidelines:

  • All abstracts must be written in English.
  • The title should be brief but adequate to clearly identify the nature of the abstract.
  • The body of the abstract should be no more than 250 words.
  • Abstracts meant to serve as a succinct description of the project.
  • Inclusion of one table or figure is permitted.
  • Abstracts should not include proprietary or confidential information, as accepted and presented abstracts will become public information.
  • All abstracts should be submitted using the template below.

Abstracts that do not meet the minimum requirements as outlined above will not be considered for acceptance. Abstracts not received by the deadline, January 8 at 12 p.m., will not be considered for acceptance.
