Celebrating Physical Therapy Month
According to the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, more than 80% of adults and adolescents do not get enough physical activity. Physical therapists (PTs) play a critical role in helping children of all abilities achieve physical activity goals and improve their quality of life. At Shriners Hospitals for Children — Chicago, our pediatric PTs provide care across a range of unique physical conditions. Children receive compassionate family-centered care with more hours of one-on-one therapy per day than other inpatient rehabilitation programs.
Our PTs provide therapy in our pediatric inpatient and intensive outpatient rehabilitation program. Therapy services may also provide care for patients recovering from injury in sports or play, or help patients and families learn to safely and properly utilize adaptive equipment. PTs even analyze movement using the latest technology in our on-site motion analysis center. Our experienced physical therapists are dedicated to helping each child meet their individual therapy goals.
