2020 DAISY Award Presented to Margo Wolf, RN
Nurse Care Manager Nominated for Empathy, Grace and Amazing Care
Margo Wolf, RN, was awarded the 2020 Shriners Hospitals for Children — Spokane DAISY Award® for nursing excellence. Margo is one of our amazing care managers working closely with patients and families since 2013. In her role as a care manager, Margo helps patients and families navigate their care journeys. She proactively works on care plans; maintains open communication between the patient, family and medical team; and facilitates care for children in their own communities. Nurses can be nominated for the DAISY Award by coworkers, patients and families.
Some comments from Margo’s nominations:
“Margo is empathetic not only to her patients, but her peers as well. She handles stress with grace and demonstrates what a DAISY Award nominee looks like on a day-to-day basis.”
“Margo cares about her patients and families. She seeks out support for patients and parents prior to surgery so that outcomes will be successful.”
DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem. The family of Patrick Barnes established The DAISY Foundation in 2000 to recognize extraordinary nurses everywhere. In late 1999, Patrick was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease known as ITP. He was hospitalized and eventually passed away. His family recognized the importance of nurses in a patient’s life and were touched by the care and comfort they received from Patrick’s nurses, so they created the award program to recognize and thank nurses like Margo for everything they do.
Congratulations Margo!
