Eugene Park, M.D., is an upper extremity and pediatric plastic surgeon at Shriners Children’s Philadelphia. He completed his residency training in plastic surgery at Northwestern University, followed by a fellowship in hand surgery at Stanford University. He completed extra training in pediatric hand surgery at Shriners Children’s Philadelphia prior to joining as staff. He feels privileged to be able to contribute to the Shriners Children's mission.
Dr. Park has a special interest in peripheral nerve surgery, including brachial plexus reconstruction and the surgical treatment of phantom and residual limb pain in amputees. He also specializes in the treatment of spasticity in children with cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury.
Dr. Park has a passion for improving access to quality care for patients in developing parts of the world. During his training he spent a year in India working with the nonprofit organization Operation Smile to improve outcomes after cleft lip and cleft palate surgery. During his time in India, Dr. Park learned the importance of treating patients as a whole person rather than just a diagnosis. He emphasizes cultural awareness in his practice and believes in a shared decision-making model that tailors care for every individual.
Dr. Park is a self-proclaimed foodie and loves to try new cuisines and explore new cultures. In his free time, he loves to travel with his wife and two children, and enjoys playing the guitar.
