Pediatric Rehabilitation
Our facility is designated by the State of California as a rehabilitation facility that meets all standards required by the Systems of Care Division of the California Children’s Services. This designation has been granted to us in recognition of our comprehensive and individualized approach to pediatric rehabilitation.
Orthopedics
Our hospital is a statewide leader in pediatric orthopedics. Shriners Children's Northern California is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top 50 pediatric orthopedic programs in the country.
If your child has an orthopedic condition such as brachial plexus, cerebral palsy, clubfoot, a fracture, hand or limb deficiencies, spina bifida, scoliosis, a spinal disorder or a sports injury, Shriners Children's Northern California is an exceptional facility to consider for their treatment.
Burn Care
We are the region’s only dedicated pediatric burn program verified by the American Burn Association (ABA) and the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
Our hospital is equipped to treat burn injuries of all degrees. From life-threatening burns to the smallest fingertip burn, our internationally noted team of burn and plastic surgeons work alongside dedicated caregivers to provide the care and rehabilitation injured children need to lead active, productive lives.
Colorectal and GI Care
Our noted team of pediatric surgeons understands the physical and emotional impacts of colon and rectal diseases. We help put patients on the path to independence by freeing them from the social stigma that may leave them feeling ashamed, depressed and alone.
If your child is age 3 or older and has been diagnosed with a colon or rectal condition, our one-week outpatient Bowel Management Program can put them on a path to independence. After participating in the intensive program, children are better able to avoid accidents, bed-wetting, dependence on diapers or further damage to their system as they get older. We focus on improving your child's self-esteem and quality of life. Our goal is to have your child be clean and in traditional underwear upon completion.
Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate Surgery
Cleft lip and/or cleft palate occurs in approximately one out of every seven hundred births. This condition is a result of the tissue in your child's lip and/or mouth not fully forming during pregnancy.
If your child has a cleft lip and/or cleft palate, we offer specialized surgical repair which can help prevent problems associated with these conditions. Our surgeries can help regulate your child's breathing, speaking, and eating abilities, and enhance the reconstruction of their facial tissue for an improved cosmetic appearance.
Spine and Scoliosis Care
Our Pediatric Spine Center offers a specialized program for the evaluation and management of pediatric spinal disorders, such as idiopathic and congenital scoliosis, Scheuermann’s kyphosis, spondylolisthesis, spinal fractures and tumors.
Each child's individualized treatment plan utilizes the most advanced spine surgery and innovative spine care techniques. Our focus is early detection and fusionless treatments for the growing spine, as well as minimally invasive (nonfusion) to advanced surgical techniques in children who require spinal fusions.
