USF Dance Marathon 2021 Goes Virtual

How 'Bulls for Kids' Plans to Keep Students Safely Dancing for Our Mission from Afar

Bulls For Kids (BFK) hosts the University of South Florida’s Dance Marathon, a student-run fundraiser benefiting Shriners Healthcare for Children — Florida. BFK began in 2004, when a group of college students got together and decided to create positive change. BFK began its partnership with Shriners Healthcare Florida in 2017 and has been supporting their mission ever since. The student-run organization hosts the year-long movement raising funds and awareness for Shriners Healthcare for Children — Florida with their slogan “FOR THE KIDS!” or “FTK!”

During challenging times, BFK has managed to keep on their dancing shoes and has transitioned their events and fundraising efforts to the virtual world. BFK recognizes that while things have changed due to the pandemic, there continues to be a need for the services offered by our outpatient facility. Through the generosity of our community, and efforts by organizations like Bulls for Kids, Shriners Healthcare for Children — Florida is able to offer specialized medical care regardless of the families’ ability to pay.

The main Dance Marathon event is on Saturday, March 6, 10 a.m.–10 p.m. via MS Teams. Donate or register here. You may also donate via Venmo @BullsForKids. Bulls for Kids will send out MS Teams links after registration.

Wednesday, March 3:

• Pet Palooza: Through the Bulls for Kids Instagram account (@BullsforKids), BFK will be having a pet contest. Submit a picture of your pet using the hashtag #BFKpetpalooza. One dollar will get you one vote, pay through Venmo (@BullsforKids). You can vote as many times as you like. The winner receives a pet prize and it will be announced on March 4.
• Virtual Bingo: Virtually at 8 p.m.. Participation costs $2 for three rounds. Venmo @BullsforKids for access to the event. Prizes TBD.
• Matching Hour: Follow @Bullsforkids Instagram account for more details to be announced on March 3.
