Shriners Children's Spokane Welcomes Timothy Gay, M.D.

Dr. Timothy Gay Joins Shriners Children's Spokane's Medical Team

We are happy to welcome Timothy Gay, M.D., as the newest member of the medical staff at Shriners Children's Spokane. Dr. Gay joins a team of specialists as the hospital’s newest pediatrician and hospitalist. Most recently, Dr. Gay worked as a community pediatric hospitalist at Tower Health – Reading Hospital in Pennsylvania and is looking forward to continuing his career working with children.

“I was drawn to Shriners Children's Spokane because providing access to high-quality care is a priority,” said Dr. Gay. “The healthcare system has a commitment to caring for children regardless of their family’s ability to pay, both things I respect. I am thrilled to join the Shriners Children's Spokane team.”

After earning his medical degree at Pennsylvania State University, Dr. Gay completed his residency training at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital in general pediatrics. Prior, Dr. Gay earned an Associate of Arts degree at Spokane Community College and later earned his undergraduate degree in Pullman at Washington State University.

"I love the impact we are able to make on children’s lives," said Dr. Gay. “I was a pediatric patient here in Spokane for many years so I’ve personally felt the impact of what a good pediatrician can do in a child’s life.”

Dr. Gay’s extensive training has provided an excellent foundation to serve our young patients. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and has a rich history of community service, volunteering his time and expertise to children’s causes.

“Dr. Gay is a welcome addition to our talented pediatric specialty team, said Glen Baird, M.D., chief of staff. “His expertise and years of experience will be a tremendous asset to the hospital and our patients.”

Dr. Gay is thrilled to return to his hometown gaining the opportunity to serve his community. Dr. Gay is happily married and looks forward to spending his free time with his nearly one dozen nieces and nephews.
