Montana East-West Shrine Game Sets Fundraising Record

The West beat the East in the 75th annual Montana East-West Shrine Game, June 18, in Great Falls. It was the second win in a row for the West, moving the overall series record to 41-34 in favor of the East. It is one of the oldest high school all-star football games in America.

Every year since 1947, Montana high schools’ finest players are selected to compete in a game to raise money for Shriners Children's Spokane. It is also a way to spread awareness about the specialty pediatric orthopedic care provided at the hospital.

The game featured all-star football players and cheerleaders nominated by their schools and coaches from across the state. More than 3,100 people attended the game this year while more than 700 attended the annual banquet.

This year resulted in record fundraising! The telethon raised more than $55,000 while the banquet raised more than $30,000.

Montana Shriners chapters also provided generous donations, including $50,000 from the Glendive Masonic Lodge & Richland Shrine Club, $6,000 from the Malta Shrine Club and $11,000 from the Western Montana Shrine Club.

The Montana East-West Shrine game has raised more than $1 million in the past 11 years for Shriners Children’s.

The incredible fundraiser allows Shriners Children’s Spokane to continue providing the most amazing care anywhere.

Next year’s game is scheduled to be played in Butte, Montana.
