Shriners Children's Spokane staff can treat kids with issues ranging from serious orthopedic conditions to simple fractures and sports injuries.

Shriners Children’s Spokane is expanding access to pediatric orthopedic care with the grand opening of its new Yakima Outreach Clinic.

The once-monthly clinic will allow patients to see a team of specialists, including surgeons, nurses and critical staff, at New Life Clinic. The clinic is ultimately an extension of the outpatient clinic within the Spokane hospital; kids will see the same specialized medical staff, just in a different location.

Shriners Children’s Spokane treats hundreds of patients from Yakima and surrounding areas each year. Families traveling greater distances for healthcare needs can present a particular strain on time and resources. This new clinic will allow children throughout the Yakima Valley and beyond to be treated by orthopedic specialists closer to home.

The Spokane Shriners Hospital staff will be able to treat kids with issues ranging from serious orthopedic conditions to simple fractures and sports injuries.

Shriners Children’s leadership and its medical team have a rich history of creating new programs to serve more kids in more places.

“We want to better serve the needs of the families in Yakima and the surrounding region by bringing our specialty medical staff closer to the communities where they live,” said Peter Brewer, Shriners Children’s Spokane Hospital Administrator. “We look forward to being a part of the community.”

Shriners Children’s Spokane launches outreach clinics on a regular basis outside of Spokane, Washington, to better serve the needs of young patients and their families. By meeting patients in their own communities, these outreach clinics make it possible for children with pediatric orthopedic needs in outlying areas to be seen by specialty providers. The clinic also creates an opportunity for patients to get treatment who might otherwise go without.

To make an appointment, patients can ask their primary care physician for a referral or they can call intake coordination at 888-895-5951. New Life Clinic is located at 1006 South 64th Ave, Suite 120, Yakima, Washington 98908.

Shriners Children’s Spokane treats kids up to age 18, always regardless of their ability to pay or insurance status.
