Speaker 1:
Recreational therapy has a lot of benefits being social, emotional, physical. Recreational therapy is great because it is a way to really work on occupational therapy goals, physical therapy goals, psychology goals, in a fun environment, allowing the kids to really take ownership over their therapy and have fun while doing it.

Speaker 1:
With recreational therapy, it's about making sure the kid is a kid and that they're having fun. One of our main goals is always that they're having a positive attitude and making sure that the kid is smiling, and ultimately that they are able to be a kid, no matter what their background is or what their abilities are. With recreational therapy, we work with abilities, not disabilities. No matter what a child has gone through, we work with where they're at, at that place in time, and try to make their day a little better.
