Adam Prentice Chao, M.D., is a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist who joined Shriners Children's Northern California in 2017. He completed his anesthesiology residency at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, New York where he was a chief resident. He completed a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Chao has volunteered on mission trips to Bangladesh and the Philippines where he provided anesthesia for craniofacial anomalies. His professional affiliations include the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Society of Pediatric Anesthesiologists and the California Society of Anesthesiologists. His hobbies include off-roading, wrenching on his 4Runner, weightlifting and exploring different countries.
