Katie Fuchs, M.D., joined Shriners Children's Portland after completing her fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Boston Children's Hospital. Dr. Fuchs, a native of the Adirondacks in upstate New York, received her undergraduate degree at Middlebury College in Vermont. She earned her medical degree at Albany Medical College and completed her orthopedic surgery residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire. During her training, she received awards for her teaching, research and community service.
Her interests include general pediatric musculoskeletal care, neuromuscular disorders, hip dysplasia, lower extremity inequality/deformity, clubfoot, fracture care, musculoskeletal infections, community education, international health, and improving care for underserved populations.
Dr. Fuchs is fluent in Spanish and a trained medical interpreter. Some of her hobbies include skiing, mountain biking, pottery, international travel and music.
