Julio Martinez-Silvestrini, M.D., was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He is a former member of the Puerto Rico National Weightlifting team and represented the island in two Olympic trials. He completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation studies at the University of Puerto Rico and his sports medicine fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Martinez has written multiple book chapters and peer-reviewed articles and has presented in national and international forums on topics related to sports and musculoskeletal medicine.
