David Reisberg, D.D.S., grew up with family members in the dental profession, so he gravitated in that direction. He enjoyed working with his hands and working with people, so he was hooked. In dental school he was introduced to the specialty of maxillofacial prosthetics (rehabilitating children and adults with birth conditions, tumors or trauma that affect their appearance and ability to eat and speak) and instantly knew this was his calling.

In his position at The University of Illinois Craniofacial Center, he began working with infants and children born with cleft lip and palate and other conditions such as ectodermal dysplasia and hemifacial macrosomia. He found it rewarding to see how much could be achieved in improving the quality of life for those children. Being invited to work with Shriners Children's Chicago was a unique opportunity for Dr. Reisberg to use his skills in providing care for so many more deserving children and their families. Shriners Children's care is a team approach of medical professionals providing comprehensive care in an environment focused children and their unique needs.

Of course, all children at Shriners Children's receive state-of-the-art care, but what is so exciting to Dr. Reisberg is the continuous improvement in our care, thanks to all of the scientific innovations in cleft and craniofacial care that are available to our patients through the support of the Shriners organization. Dr. Reisberg says that he is so grateful to be a part of it.
