Becky Rouse, PT, DPT, joined Shriners Children's Twin Cities as a physical therapist in 2014, after earning her Bachelor of Science Exercise & Sport Science and Doctor of Physical Therapy from St. Catherine University. She has always had an interest in working with children of all ages and diagnoses. Becky believes in making therapy activities fun and keeping therapy play-based whenever possible, while using the most recent literature and research to get the best possible outcomes for her patients.

Through her work at Shriners Children’s she has gained further passion and training for working with patients with scoliosis and other spine disorders. Becky assisted with establishing Shriners Children's Twin Cities' scoliosis specific exercise (SSE) program, which uses a 3D treatment approach to address adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) using specific exercises guided by the principles of Christina Lehnert-Schroth and the Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School (BSPTS). Becky is both C1 and C2 certified which allows her to treat AISjuvenile idiopathic scoliosis (JIS) and Scheuermann’s Kyphosis, among other spinal deformities and post-operative patients.

In addition to treating the spine, Becky also has a passion for working with patients with prostheses and athletes of all ages and abilities, working closely with our sports medicine providers. She is very driven to help kids return to their chosen sport or activity following surgeries or injuries, and help come up with strategies to help them engage in any activity they have a passion for.

In her free time Becky enjoys spending time with her husband, daughters and doggo, doing outdoor activities, and going to the lake.
