Our partnership with Temple University Health System and local children's hospitals gives us the ability to provide access to extended care services for our patients.
Temple University Health System and Shriners Children’s Philadelphia have enjoyed a long-standing relationship that includes clinical care, research and education.
Our teams collaborate on a number of research projects related to the conditions we treat at Shriners Children's, including orthopedics, scoliosis and spine care, spinal cord injuries and rehabilitation. We also work with specialists at Temple to coordinate care for our patients who require services and procedures that we don’t have available at our facility. Patients who require lab services, advanced imaging, radiology and acute inpatient procedures as part of their care, can expect to see specialists from both Shriners Children’s and Temple University Health.
Our teams work together to streamline the care process by sharing information and collaborating to ensure that patient experience and outcomes are our main focus throughout the care journey.
A Network Committed to High-Quality Pediatric Care
As a facility that specializes in orthopedics, spinal cord injuries and rehabilitation, we often see patients who have needs outside of our areas of expertise, or who require procedures that we are unable to perform at Shriners Children's Philadelphia. In order to ensure that our patients have access to these procedures and services, we partner with other local hospitals, including Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and the University of Pennsylvania.
Some of the procedures or services that our patients can expect to see specialists at these hospitals for include rheumatology, neurology, inpatient services, imaging and general surgery. Our patients who require care for infectious diseases are seen by specialists at CHOP.
