Shriners Children's St. Louis and Washington University School of Medicine are partners committed to excellence in clinical care, research and education.

For nearly 100 years, Shriners Children's St. Louis and the Washington University School of Medicine (WashU) Department of Orthopedics, have worked together to care for children in the St. Louis area and beyond. WashU leads the nation in pediatric orthopedic research, as well as education for surgeons in the field. Most physicians at Shriners Children's St. Louis are also faculty members in the WUSM Department of Orthopedics.

Recognized Leaders in Pediatric Orthopedic Care

Our institutions are also recognized collectively as leaders in pediatric orthopedic care. U.S. News & World Report ranked Shriners Children's St. Louis and WUSM Department of Orthopedics the #6 spot in the country for pediatric orthopedic care in 2021. This is the second consecutive year the hospital has been ranked in the Top 10.

A Shared Commitment to Innovation in Research

In January 2016, Shriners Children's St. Louis launched a new research partnership with WashU. The goal of this research is to find new ways to help our patients grow new bone and cartilage.

Shriners Children's St. Louis and the Washington University School and Medicine also enjoy a close relationship with St. Louis Children’s Hospital. This relationship increases our ability to offer clinical care options outside of our areas of expertise to our patients.
