Driving Directions

If you are using a GPS in your vehicle, please make sure it has been updated recently as our location has recently changed. GPS devices that have not been updated may lead you to our former location on Cedar Avenue which is now vacant.

By car: The main MUHC entrance for the public is accessible off of Decarie Boulevard, which can be easily accessed from major highways (15, 20 and 720). The main entrance for the Glen site is accessible via Décarie Boulevard. Families and visitors must follow the signage for Shriners Hospitals for Children Canada all the way to P3 140A, where they will find the parking entrance directly into level SS2 of the hospital. Important: families must bring their parking tickets with them to the front desk. Once in the hospital, proceed through the SS2 doors and take the elevators that you will find in the museum to RC.

Drop-off zone: There is a semi-circle drop off zone at the front of Shriners Hospitals for Children Canada.

Taxi: There is a taxi pick-up area on the west side of the Glen site (near the Canada Shriners Hospital and Decarie Boulevard).

Road work advisory: Since March 21, 2015, and until fall 2017, the Quebec Transport Ministry has closed a section of Saint-Jacques Street in order to proceed with the demolition and the reconstruction of the Saint-Jacques Bridge. Patients, visitors and staff should consider these changes to traffic in their access to the Glen site. Make sure you understand the detours before coming to the hospital. We will post updates and advisories on a regular basis.

By Public Transit

Metro: Since June 18, 2015, the underground tunnel between the MUHC Glen site and the intermodal Vendôme Station is open, offering patients, visitors and staff a faster and safer access to the hospital. The tunnel is 35 meters long and opens on the train platform side of the station, passes under the train tracks and leads pedestrians on the side of the Glen site, then to the hospital main entrance.

Since 5,000 travelers will use the tunnel on a daily basis, the STM has added more staircases, rearranged ticket counters and enlarged current hallways.

From the Glen site side, the tunnel is equipped with an elevator for reduced mobility travelers; however, on the STM and AMT side, it is only accessible by stairs. The plan for the “Programme d’infrastructures du Québec 2012-2014” does foresee the addition of a second entrance, which will provide a universal access by elevators to all train and metro travelers, including staff, patients and visitors of the Glen site.

Bus: There are nine STM buses that stop at the Vendôme Station (17, 37, 90, 102, 104, 105, 125, 371) and three other buses do frequent stops near the Glen site (78, 24, 63).

New bus line: 77 - Lionel-Groulx Station / MUHC

Starting May 11, 2015, a bus line will service the Glen Site of the MUHC! It will allow a much easier access to the Glen Site, in particular, for limited mobility travelers.

Commuter trains: The Vendôme Station is an intermodal station, which also links to the metro network to three different commuter train lines of the AMT: Saint-Jérôme, Candiac and Vaudreuil-Hudson.

By foot or bicycle: Pedestrians can access the Glen site by using the main entrance pathway off of Decarie Boulevard (the Canada Shriners Hospital side). For bikers, there are reserved bike paths all around the Glen site that are also linked to the Decarie and de Maisonneuve Boulevard bike paths. On site, there are 330 bike racks both inside the employee parking and outside, around the site.

Parking

Free parking for our guests is underground at the P3A level in the 100 area. Families must bring their parking ticket to the front desk for validation. Once in the hospital through the SS2 doors, please take the elevators that you will find in the museum up to RC.

Important: the families of children treated at Shriners Hospitals for Children Canada who wish to take advantage of the free parking must park in the underground parking in the P3A – 100 area. Free parking does not apply to the express parking outdoors.
